Thank you, Ruth! Yes, I agree, and hopefully this will lead to more reflection on what was done (and continues to be done) with an eye toward charting a different course in the future. Certainly the terms of debate must go deeper than the ones presented in the article, but it's still significant coming from a mainstream outlet.
Consider however, that the "return of mandates" could very possibly simply be distractions for something far more nefarious that they're in the process of coming to fruition.
That's their MO.
If everyone's reacting, then there are fewer peopel pro-acting. Let's not forget, the same ilk just obliterated via what was essentially disintegration, an entire resort city in Hawaii, people, pets, property, all. They did 9-11.
