One further note to add to my previous comments.
A big reason for the decline of the anti-globalization movement in the early '00s was its total failure to deal with the events of 9/11. Prominent movement figures and most of the activists did not at all raise questions about what actually happened. Instead, they accepted the basic official accounts, even if opposing the specific countermeasures, i.e. the crackdown on dissent at home (PATRIOT Act, etc) and wars abroad. Celebrities such as Noam Chomsky in fact went all out to denounce the 9/11 truth movement as 'conspiracy theory" mongering. My late comrade Tod Fletcher and i were a rare exception. We remained outspoken, Tod till his 2014 death and me till today. Here is Tod in 2010, situating 9/11 in the context of state repression policies such as Operation Gladio in Europe in the 1970s and '80s.

Similarly, the general opposition movement has gone along with 3/11, i.e. 3/11/20, the imposition of the global lockdown following the proclamation of a "global pandemic" by the WHO, while again opposing some specific measures here and there, although this time the movement has largely gone along with the measures, with Chomsky even urging the jailing of anyone refusing the jabs. Not what i saw, as a participant. The movement had been repressed via violence and co-optation. Outright force was used against the participants in protests against the G7 Summit in Genoa in July 2002, There were even deaths. 9/11 and the PATRIOT Act a month later made demonstrations very hard to carry out. JD Vance's biggest accomplishment so far has been the location of a $20 billion Intel facility in Ohio. It depends upon a ... globalized production system. This anti-globalization rhetoric is bluster and playing to the base. Trump did nothing to lessen globalization. In fact, he presided over the implementation of the global 4IR "COVID" Psy Op in the US, a crucial step toward making the WHO a globally dominant body. And Trump is likely to further escalate war moves against China, not to mention provide total support to Israel's regional imperialism. The American elite as a whole is moving towards a greater assertion of its own interests even while steps are being taken to create more powerful globalist bodies. That's called contradictions. The biggest contradiction of capitalism as a social production system is between the competition/fragmentation dynamic and the centralization/concentration dynamic. Both are being pursued.

Regarding Trump and Vance, the evidence speaks for itself, which I've presented here. To expect major American political figures to end a "globalized production system" is wishful thinking; to recognize the objective shifts that have occurred is what I am doing here. I'd have to be convinced that Trumpism will outlive Trump (in power), no one else in those ranks has anything like the loyalty he draws.
